Meet Stuart D. Trachy, Commissioner for District 2:

Stuart Trachy was born and raised in Franklin, one of eight children.  He is a graduate of St. Mary’s School, Bishop Brady High School, Saint Anselm College (BA) and Harvard University (Masters Degree in Public Administration). Having served as a student intern in the County Commissioners’ office, Stuart went on to six years in the NH House of Representatives, and became the youngest mayor in Franklin’s history. After a stint in his family’s real estate business, Stuart founded a government affairs consulting firm in Concord representing diverse groups before the NH legislature and state government.  He retired from that business after 35 years.  He also taught American Political Behavior and Public Finance as an adjunct college instructor.

Stuart served on many non-profit boards, including Franklin Regional Hospital (president), LRGHealthcare (chair), Riverside Housing, Franklin Developments (president), Franklin Business and Industrial Development Corp., and NH Hospital Association (trustee).  From 1988-2006 Stuart served as county commissioner and county treasurer, rejoining the board in 2020.  He is also currently a director at Franklin Savings Bank (former Chairman of the Board) and lives with his wife Kerry in Franklin.  They have one son and one grandson.
