The hiring process for Group II (Security Staff) employees will include at a minimum:
structured oral interview;
Medical exam which includes a drug test (after conditional offer of employment);
A background investigation.
The Department will conduct a criminal record check on all new employees, contractors, and volunteers prior to their assuming duties to identify whether there are criminal convictions that have a specific relationship to job performance.
Please note, any Correctional Officer applicant over the age of 45 or who meets other special requirements listed in the PT Consent Form will require a doctor's note authorizing their physical agility test prior to participating in a hiring process.
