The Purchasing Department is responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies and services for all Merrimack County departments with the objective of obtaining the best quality products and services for the best price or best value, to operate the organization effectively.

Purchasing is responsible for maintaining effective and professional relationships with vendors and various county employees, and to serve as the primary channel through which all requests for county purchases and price quotations are handled.

The Purchasing Department processes requisitions, purchase orders, requests for quote (RFQ), and Requests for Proposals (RFP).
